Someone is trying to kill Maejima, the unassuming Archery club adviser and Math teacher at Seika Women's High School. What appears to be pure, dumb luck has gotten him through several attempts unscathed, but he has no clue as to the perpetrator and the Principal would rather not involve the police in what's "surely just a student acting out". With the entire faculty and student body as his suspects, Maejima struggles to discover the culprit before his luck runs out.

After receiving a call from a mysterious lady called Shindou Yurika, Masaki, the main protagonist, learns that his elder sister died under mysterious circumstances. He obtains a Jazz CD from Yurika and plays it in remembrance of his sister. While listening to it he experiences soul traveling and dives into a, for him unknown, "psyche world". Later on he accidentally meets other souls and tries to find out what actually happened to his sister.

Then comes forth a young, new Official - Houjou - who challenges the corruption. Gifted by the Emperor with three beheading devices, he is charged with bringing justice back to the courts.Based on the historical figure of Justice Bao (Chinese reading of the name), who was said to be an incorruptible official, this is a light-hearted romp through ancient China as he and his assistants work against the corruption that has become the norm in the Imperial Courts.
