About a robot, Jack, who appears frequently in Shimizu's SF stories. He's a robot with very human-like psyche and he once believed that he was human and he can even consume food, unlike many of the other robots of those times. However, a cruel incident opened his eyes to the truth and he decided to perform bounty-hunting duties on a strange planet. That's where he meets Ruby, who turns into an innocent-looking youngster and a beautiful and seducing woman at night... she's a Photuris - a human tribe that preys on other humans in order to survive...

This is a collection of seven oneshot stories which were already published.

On Kabuchi-jima, an island ruled by Princess Kaguya, ten children were raised as sacrificial victims. Several of the children thought they had escaped their fate when they escaped the island. But nearly a decade later, the kids are still dying in the order and at the time they would have as sacrifices... Their only hope now is to reunite and return to the island to seek out and destroy the source--the legend, the blood-lusting Moon Princess--before time runs out.

Ailey, the selfish daughter of a multibillionaire, "buys" her favorite rockstar in an intergalatical society and essentially forbids him from leaving her private planet, no matter how much he trys to leave. But as time goes on, the rockstar Marty, continues to resist, and she must either kill him or let him go.

Another work by Reiko Shimizu, or rather her newest. This series is a disturbing manga about solving murder cases by applying the newly developed method of viewing the memory of dead people's brains. And as in every manga done by this mangaka, weird supernatural forces are of course included.

The first chapter is actually a prologue and is concentrated on the first case where this method was used. Chapter 2 is when the two main characters are introduced, so hang on!

This is a one volume work which consists of 2 separate and quite long stories. The first one is science-fiction related and is... quite eccentric. The second one however is more down to Earth.

It's highly entertaining and very amusing. And it's all from the lion's perspective... If you're a Reiko Shimizu fan or an animal lover, you should definitely check out this manga. I think everyone can find enjoyment in this work of hers that is for once not science-fictional, etc. Nothing "scary", generally this is a "safe" manga... Just try it out!!!
